About The Position

Ring's End, Inc. of Stratford, CT is hiring a full-time Commercial Truck Driver (HAZMAT) to distribute our items throughout Southern Fairfield County and parts of Westchester County, NY. This role involves transporting building materials, interacting with clients, ensuring accurate deliveries, and maintaining vehicle and paperwork. Requirements

  • CDL Class B license
  • Clean driving record
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Ability to meet physical requirements like lifting heavy items and/or using a forklift
  • Compliant with all safety and Department of Transportation rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Transport building materials in a timely manner along a designated route.
  • Check in with clients on their experience with the service and handle concerns.
  • Load or unload building materials carefully, ensuring items are kept intact.
  • Ensure each delivery reaches the correct destination.
  • Positively represent the company at each stop.
  • Keep all necessary paperwork up-to-date.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment.
  • Navigate roads with utmost concern for others.
  • Provide courteous delivery to customers.
  • Load box truck via forklift or hand.
  • Read receipt tickets to ensure accuracy of loaded items.
  • Pre-load trucks during late afternoon hours to ensure orders are ready for delivery first thing each morning.
  • Double check outgoing loads for accuracy.
  • Conduct daily inspection of truck and communicate defects to mechanics for immediate repair.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring the security and safety of customers, employees, and the general public.
  • Drive truck with a GVW of at least 10,001 pounds.
  • May require driving smaller trucks or vans for smaller deliveries.
  • Comply with all safety and Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
