The Commercial Tire Laborer loads, unloads, and moves commercial parts and materials in or near a warehouse yard or work site. The role also includes manifesting and retread tires, filling in for drivers when needed, and performing other assigned tasks. The position is located at Bergey’s Commercial Tire in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Requirements

• Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
• No prior experience or training is required; the posting also lists less than a high school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination as a qualification.
• The posting also lists a high school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination as a qualification.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine which parts, materials, or containers need to be moved.
• Load and unload parts and materials onto or from pallets by hand or with a forklift.
• Develop a loading plan for proper placement of parts in orders.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Move parts and materials using a forklift or hand jack.
• Count and record the number of units moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials according to orders.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a forklift and clean the work area.
• Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or parts.
• Operate a propane industrial truck or electric forklift to assist with loading or moving materials and products.
• Fill in for drivers when needed.
• Manifest retread tires.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
