About The Position

HUB is seeking a Commercial Team Manager to lead a team of 25-30 commercial insurance processors, associates, and advisors. This role involves being a local community leader, motivating and coaching the team to provide a best-in-class client experience, and driving business growth through strategic planning and disciplined execution. The manager will focus on leadership, relationship building, and collaboration to achieve branch goals and vision.

Requirements

  • Ability to cultivate strong and productive interpersonal relationships internally and externally.
  • Level 2 General Insurance License required.
  • Minimum 5 years of insurance brokerage experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in commercial lines with exposure to client experience, policy coverage, claims advocacy, and marketing negotiations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading a team.
  • Strong MS Suite knowledge: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Bookings, PowerPoint.

  • Industry designation and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset (CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM).

Responsibilities

  • Execute an annual business plan to maximize organic growth opportunities.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Sales to drive sales initiatives for new business, retention, and sales across different lines of business.
  • Inspire the team to achieve excellence and deliver a memorable client experience.
  • Actively participate in business and industry communities to build a network and enhance the branch's presence and reputation.
  • Represent the HUB brand and culture in the community.
  • Ensure high employee engagement through recruiting, talent management, development, and career planning.
  • Conduct one-on-ones, team meetings, career conversations, career mapping, performance conversations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Manage vacant seat coverage and lead recruiting efforts for open roles.
  • Ensure a complete training path for new hires, including assigning mentors and buddies.
  • Provide a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates talent.
  • Support the team to achieve their highest performance potential.
  • Drive productivity and accountability across the team and between regional teams.
  • Identify and develop future leadership talent.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the branch, including corporate branding and profit & loss statements.
  • Manage weekly reporting on Accounts Receivable (AR), Not Yet Renewed, Unbilled, IMAC concerns, and other service standard reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and escalate issues as needed.
  • Partner with cross-regional Commercial Lines Team Managers and the Commercial Training team to improve processes.
  • Assist with annual licensing and continuing education requirements for all staff.
  • Manage organizational change implementation plans by preparing the team and supporting smooth transitions.
