About The Position

As a Commercial Structures Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects. Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
  • Experience with verbal and written communication demonstrated through delivering presentations, writing reports or documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with MS Office products, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrating attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work tasks and challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness, and affordability.
  • Execute structural analysis including dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, or thermal analysis.
  • Collaborate with small teams and receive mentoring and coaching from experts and senior engineers in the field.
  • Use finite-element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
