Requirements

Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
Experience with verbal and written communication demonstrated through delivering presentations, writing reports or documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Experience with MS Office products, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrating attention to detail and deadlines.
Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

Work tasks and challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness, and affordability.
Execute structural analysis including dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, or thermal analysis.
Collaborate with small teams and receive mentoring and coaching from experts and senior engineers in the field.
Use finite-element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
