About The Position

As a Commercial Structures Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will work on tasks and challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness, and affordability. You will execute structural analysis including dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, or thermal analysis. You will collaborate with small teams and receive mentoring and coaching from experts and senior engineers in the field. You will use finite-element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses. Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
  • Experience with verbal and written communication demonstrated through delivering presentations, writing reports or documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with MS Office products, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrating attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
