About The Position

The Commercial Strategy Program Manager, a newly established role within the Global Commercial Office (GCO), reports to the VP of Strategy. This is a highly visible and critical position requiring world-class program management skills and strategic agility. Familiarity with the marketing and commercial aspects of the medical device space is highly beneficial. The role collaborates closely with functional leaders within the GCO and commercial leaders across Medtronic to support the execution of enterprise commercial priorities. The Program Manager will also support key initiatives for the Marketing Leadership Council (MLC), translating strategy into structured plans, insights, and high-impact deliverables within a global, matrixed environment. This role drives high-quality strategic recommendations, facilitates decision-making with senior leadership, and tracks progress against key strategic priorities. It requires a strong executor and problem-solver with analytical rigor, operational discipline, and the ability to influence across stakeholders. The Global Commercial Office (GCO) drives Medtronic’s enterprise-wide commercial strategy, partnering across businesses and regions to accelerate growth and deliver a consistent, customer-centric experience. GCO leads global initiatives spanning commercial excellence, marketing, market development, pricing, and go-to-market innovation, ensuring alignment to Medtronic’s overall strategy and operating model. Medtronic aims to bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything they do. This position is remote to enhance competitive edge and expand cross-functional collaboration efforts, requiring 25% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • Candidates must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment for roles below the Principal level.

Nice To Haves

  • Background supporting enterprise commercial strategy initiatives within a global or matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with commercial strategy, marketing, or go-to-market functions within the medical device, healthcare technology, or other regulated healthcare industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex strategic programs that involve multiple senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to translate high-level strategic objectives into structured initiatives, program plans, and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Track record of developing executive-level presentations, business cases, and analytical materials to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Experience supporting recurring executive operating mechanisms such as strategic reviews, business reviews, or performance management forums.
  • Capability to coordinate and facilitate cross-functional collaboration across marketing, commercial, regional, and operational teams.
  • Exposure to commercial transformation or operational improvement initiatives focused on scaling processes, tools, or operating models.
  • Working knowledge of commercial analytics, performance tracking, or strategic KPI monitoring used to assess business performance and initiative progress.
  • Familiarity with commercial enablement platforms or tools such as Salesforce (SFDC), or other CRM systems, commercial analytics platforms, or sales enablement technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Project managing key aspects of the GCO strategic planning process and contributing from both a strategic and content creation perspective.
  • Planning and attending in-person Launch Academy sessions approximately once a quarter and contributing to the ongoing refinement of the program.
  • Organizing the annual Marketing Excellence Awards process and making recommendations to improve.
  • Building programs that sustain and scale with continued refinements for business process improvement with documented business impact.
  • Supporting recurring operating mechanisms including Monthly Performance Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Partnering with the VP of Strategy and GCO leadership to translate strategic objectives into initiatives and measurable outcomes.
  • Developing presentations, analyses, and briefing materials for senior leadership decision-making.
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration across marketing, commercial, and regional teams.
  • Supporting the Marketing Leadership Council through coordination and preparation of materials.
  • Tracking progress against strategic initiatives and identifying risks or opportunities.
