About The Position

As a Service Technician, you will work at our Wilks Tire location in Decatur, AL, providing light mechanical service and tire service to both the Commercial Trucking industry and private autos. You will perform a variety of services including light mechanical maintenance, tire repair and replacement, alignments, brake and air system services, and DOT annual inspections. You will also be responsible for communicating service needs to the Service Supervisor and/or other Service Technicians, responding to customer calls, performing on-site repairs, and maintaining service equipment and the shop environment. This role requires the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting, and reporting safety issues immediately. A professional appearance is expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience including brakes, oil changes, front end work, all wheel position alignments.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have your own tools
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • DOT Inspector Certification.
  • ASE Certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform light mechanical maintenance on vehicles: Lube, oil change, filter service
  • Replace and/or repair tires
  • Alignments
  • Front End Suspension
  • Brakes & Air System
  • DOT Annual Inspections
  • Determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and private auto owners and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians
  • Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management.
  • Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements.
  • Clean and maintain service equipment.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Help keep shop clean and organized
