About The Position

This role is responsible for various tasks related to the removal of used commercial doors and equipment, as well as the installation and servicing of new commercial doors, operators, and associated equipment. The helper will also perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to evaluate appropriate commercial door and installation requirements.
  • Ability to determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and available.
  • Ability to establish job needs and document installation/service requirements.
  • Ability to note alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions.
  • Ability to perform minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments.
  • Ability to install Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors.
  • Ability to install commercial garage door operators.
  • Ability to perform installation/service on various products (hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, locks).
  • Ability to care for and maintain equipment and tools.
  • Ability to care for and maintain vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain parts inventory in the vehicle.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally.
  • Ability to explain work performed, operating functions, safety systems, and controls.
  • Ability to clean work areas and manage trash.
  • Ability to use radio dispatch system for job updates.
  • Ability to provide billing documents and accept payment.
  • Ability to retain and deliver back-up copies of information and payment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with take down of used commercial doors and/or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and assist the Lead Commercial Installer with tasks.
  • Evaluate commercial door and installation requirements for each job.
  • Determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and available before starting work.
  • Establish job needs, document installation/service requirements, and identify any additional work needed.
  • Note alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions before beginning a job.
  • Discuss work to be performed with Lead Installer, Estimator, and/or Scheduler for approval.
  • Perform minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments.
  • Install Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors using appropriate tools, hardware, and equipment.
  • Install Wayne Dalton Corp. and other manufactured commercial garage door operators.
  • Perform commercial installation/service on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, and locks.
  • Care for and maintain equipment and tools provided by Wayne Dalton of Spokane.
  • Care for and maintain vehicles provided by Wayne Dalton of Spokane.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle for installation work.
  • Represent Wayne Dalton Corp. professionally with customers.
  • Explain work performed, operating functions, safety systems, operator controls, and customer maintenance.
  • Clean the work area and discard trash appropriately after each installation.
  • Contact Wayne Dalton via radio dispatch regarding job progress, completion time, and additional work.
  • Provide a billing document to the consumer and accept payment.
  • Retain back-up copies of information and payment and deliver them to Wayne Dalton.
