About The Position

Reliable Electric and Lighting is seeking an experienced Commercial Service Electrician to serve customers in the Baltimore, Maryland market. This role is not for entry-level candidates. The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced, comfortable working independently, skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues, adept at customer communication, and capable of managing commercial service calls from initiation to completion. We are looking for a commercial electrician who takes pride in their work and desires a position of trust and autonomy.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
Strong commercial electrical troubleshooting experience.
Experience performing electrical service work independently.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to troubleshoot 120/208V and 277/480V commercial electrical systems.
Experience with commercial lighting and lighting controls.
Ability to safely operate ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and the Reliable support team.
Good organizational and paperwork/documentation skills.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must be dependable, responsive, and capable of managing an assigned service route.
Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
Experience troubleshooting circuits, breakers, panels, lighting systems, controls, and other commercial electrical equipment.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to identify required materials and accurately determine what is needed to complete repairs and quoted work.
Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and standard electrician tools.
Ability to accurately complete service reports, work documentation, and required paperwork.
Dependable attendance and ability to manage an assigned service schedule.
Ability to safely lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials commonly associated with commercial electrical work.
Must follow company and customer safety requirements at all times.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman-level commercial electrical experience.
Previous experience as a Commercial Service Electrician.
Experience working independently from a company service vehicle.
Commercial retail, facility maintenance, or multi-site service experience.
Experience troubleshooting lighting controls, contactors, photocells, time clocks, occupancy sensors, and related equipment.
OSHA and/or lift certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform commercial electrical service and repair work.
Troubleshoot electrical systems, circuits, lighting, controls, breakers, and related equipment.
Diagnose problems and determine appropriate repairs.
Perform electrical installations, replacements, and upgrades.
Service interior and exterior commercial lighting systems.
Work from ladders, lifts, and boom equipment as required.
Read and understand electrical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
Identify materials and equipment needed to complete repairs and quoted work.
Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and management.
Complete required service documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain an organized and professional service vehicle.
Follow NEC requirements, company safety procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
Represent Reliable Electric and Lighting professionally at every customer location.
