About The Position

This role involves collaborating with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop and execute sales plans, identify new business opportunities, and manage the sales cycle from prospecting to account management. The representative will act as a subject matter expert and key customer contact, building strong relationships, presenting proposals, negotiating, and closing sales. They will also be responsible for reporting on key performance indicators, understanding the customer base and market activity, resolving issues, and promoting the company positively within the community and industry.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of sales experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of propane industry is an asset
  • Strong focus on new business development
  • Exceptional customer service skills and relationship management skills
  • Business acumen, financial and analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems used to manage pipelines, track customer interactions, and inform sales strategy.
  • Knowledge of propane or oil & gas industry is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel for 2-3 nights per month, as needed
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop, recommend and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities and work the sales plan to create awareness, discover customer needs and deliver product and service solutions.
  • Initiate and lead the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and act as the customer’s key contact and resource.
  • Build strong business relationships with prospective customers and manage the sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on their current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
  • Prepare and confidently present sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers.
  • Influence, negotiate and close the sale with the best interest of the company and the customer in mind.
  • Collaborate with and engage the Regional Leadership Team to ensure the needs of the customer can be and will be met.
  • Communicate regularly and prepare reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements.
  • Intimately know customer base and area activity and utilize information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
  • Resolve any issues as they arise and involves subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
  • Own the account from prospecting through to ongoing account management.
  • Promote and represent Superior Plus Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.
