About The Position

The Sales Intern is a paid, part-time position designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the sales and commercial functions of Colortech. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the company’s products, customers, industry, and business operations while supporting the Sales Team with meaningful projects and day-to-day activities. As a member of the Commercial Team, the Sales Intern will work alongside Sales Representatives and other experienced professionals to gain a broad understanding of Colortech’s business and how different departments work together to serve customers. Responsibilities and learning opportunities may include participating in sales calls and meetings, conducting market and industry research, assisting with customer and sales presentations, helping prepare meeting agendas and materials, and supporting other projects as needed. The Sales Intern may also participate in customer visits and facility tours with Sales Representatives to gain firsthand exposure to customer interactions and the sales process. Through these experiences, the intern will build industry knowledge, develop an understanding of Colortech’s products and capabilities, and learn how the organization delivers value to its customers. This position is intended to provide students or individuals early in their careers with practical experience in sales and business while developing professional, communication, research, and problem-solving skills. The Sales Intern will have the opportunity to learn from experienced team members, contribute to the Sales Team, and gain valuable insight into potential career opportunities within sales and the broader commercial organization.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field. Students in other relevant fields of study may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, ask questions, take initiative, and contribute in a professional work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, co-op, leadership, manufacturing, customer service, technical, or sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated involvement and initiative through academic, athletic, professional, community, or extracurricular activities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plastics manufacturing, material science, polymer processing, or industrial sales is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of Colortech’s products, services, customers, industry, and internal processes through hands-on experience and exposure to various areas of the organization.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn by asking thoughtful questions and seeking to understand the products, processes, and business decisions that support Colortech and its customers.
  • Complete assigned projects, tasks, research, and other responsibilities with attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Assist the Sales and Commercial Teams with market research, industry research, customer information, meeting preparation, agendas, presentations, and other projects as needed.
  • Participate in sales calls, meetings, customer visits, and facility tours to gain firsthand exposure to the sales process and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with employees across commercial, technical, operational, and administrative functions to gain a broader understanding of how different areas of the organization work together to serve customers.
  • Assist with customer-related projects, information requests, and other activities that support the Sales Team and contribute to a positive customer experience.
  • Build knowledge of the plastics and manufacturing industries and develop an understanding of Colortech’s role within the market.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with employees, customers, and other business contacts when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, accountability, adaptability, and a willingness to learn while managing assigned responsibilities in a professional work environment.
  • Be receptive to feedback and guidance and apply what is learned to improve performance and develop professional skills.
  • Participate in additional training, meetings, projects, or other learning opportunities as assigned.
