About The Position

LangChain is seeking a Commercial Sales Director for the East region to lead and expand its commercial sales efforts. This role involves building and managing a team of account executives, guiding ambitious engineering teams in discovering, evaluating, and adopting LangChain's products. The position requires a technically adept individual who can build trust with engineering and AI/ML buyers. It offers significant ownership, a product addressing a key developer need, and the opportunity to build a team from a solid foundation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying SaaS sales experience, with at least 2 years managing a team.
  • Consistent track record closing mid-market and commercial deals in the $20K–$200K+ ACV range.
  • Comfortable selling into technical audiences — you don't need to write code, but you need to understand what developers care about and earn their trust.
  • Experience building pipeline from scratch, not just inheriting it.
  • Strong forecasting discipline and CRM hygiene (we use Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with the AI/LLM ecosystem — you know what agents are, why observability matters, and what teams are trying to solve when they're evaluating LangSmith.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in developer tools, data infrastructure, MLOps, or AI/ML tooling is a strong signal.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of commercial AEs covering the Eastern US.
  • Carry a regional quota while managing team performance to plan cross mid-market and commercial accounts ($20K–$200K+ ACV).
  • Work closely with SDRs, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to move deals forward and retain and expand accounts after close.
  • Build relationships with technical buyers (engineering leads, AI/ML teams, CTOs) as well as economic buyers (VPs, C-suite).
  • Partner with Marketing and Product on pipeline-building programs and feedback loops from the field.
  • Forecast accurately and report on pipeline health, deal velocity, and team performance.
  • Represent LangChain at industry events, customer meetings, and field engagements across the East.
