About The Position

Energy Ogre is expanding its commercial footprint in Texas. We are seeking a high-energy Commercial Sales Consultant to drive outside business development. This is a "hunter-builder" role focused on direct canvassing, networking, and closing deals with small- to mid-sized businesses. Beyond individual production, you will be a founding member of the commercial department, helping to build our sales playbook while refining and scaling our go-to-market strategy. This position is based in Texas. Candidates must reside in Texas.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in outside sales, preferably in the Texas commercial electricity market
  • Proven success closing SMB and mid-market deals through outbound prospecting
  • Strong understanding of ERCOT, including TDU charges, demand charges, and contract structures
  • Experience building or refining sales processes in a growth environment
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and a proactive “builder” mentality
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Candidates must reside in Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-volume outbound prospecting targeting SMB and mid-market businesses
  • Own full-cycle sales, including pricing strategy, negotiation, and contract execution
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, positioning yourself as a fiduciary and consumer advocate
  • Consistently exceed monthly and annual revenue targets
  • Design, test, and refine outbound messaging, sales scripts, and pricing frameworks
  • Provide real-time feedback to IT and Operations to improve APIs, quoting tools, and onboarding
  • Identify and develop high-value segments and tailor go-to-market strategies
  • Support onboarding and development of junior sales team members as the team scales
