About The Position

B&L Sheet Metal & Roofing, a Tecta America Company, is a leading commercial roofing contractor in Bloomington, Indiana, known for superior installations, craftsmanship, and project outcomes. We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Service Coordinator for our Bloomington, IN office. This role is responsible for managing and supporting daily roofing service operations by scheduling inspections, repairs, and maintenance work. The coordinator ensures effective communication between customers, field crews, and internal teams, acting as the primary point of contact for service requests. Key duties include coordinating technician schedules, managing work orders, and ensuring timely and efficient job completion.

Requirements

  • Must possess recent experience in similar role, preferably in the construction trades, real estate or automotive industries.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, preferably MS Office (Word and Excel), experience working with Outlook for e-mails, scheduling, etc. a plus.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, and customer service skills to serve both internal and external customers.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, excellent time management, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
  • Ability to maintain flexible and positive attitude towards assignments.
  • Track record of initiative and establishing priorities, and ownership of work is essential.
  • Knowledge of service software (like dispatch systems, CRM, ERP) is a plus
  • Be problem solver with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate service calls, maintenance, and repairs
  • Adjust schedules in real time to handle emergencies and delays
  • Optimize technician routing for maximum efficiency
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers
  • Receive and manage service requests via phone, email, and systems
  • Provide timely updates on job status and arrival times
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues when needed
  • Create, update, and close work orders with accurate details
  • Track job progress and ensure all documentation is complete
  • Communicate clearly with technicians on priorities and updates
  • Monitor productivity and maintain service records and reporting (KPIs)
  • Support billing, invoicing, collections, and ensure data accuracy/compliance
