Commercial Banking serves mid-sized businesses with annual revenues between $1 million and $25 million and credit needs up to $10 million. The segment’s value proposition centers on delivering scalable financial solutions that support operational efficiency and growth. Clients in this segment are experienced operators with expanded accounting capabilities and evolving financial needs, including working capital, enhanced payment systems, and faster money movement. Commercial Banking offers consultative support and tailored products that help clients streamline operations and access capital with confidence. The segment builds enduring relationships by providing responsive service and strategic guidance that aligns with each client’s business goals. The Commercial Relationship Manager I supports mid-sized commercial clients with evolving financial needs. This role focuses on learning the fundamentals of relationship management, credit structuring, and portfolio oversight. Working with guidance from senior staff, Relationship Managers identify new business opportunities, prepare credit narratives, and coordinate deal execution. They engage with clients to understand basic operational challenges and support the delivery of tailored banking solutions. They remain involved throughout the lifecycle of the loan, ensuring that the client’s experience is seamless and aligned with the bank’s service standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in banking, lending, or financial services.
  • Basic understanding of commercial credit principles and financial statements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn banking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with commercial clients.
  • Learn to deliver consultative support on basic financial needs and banking products.
  • Recommend value-driven solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Contribute to credit narrative preparation with analyst guidance.
  • Assist in coordinating third-party activities and deal execution.
  • Observe and learn loan approval processes within delegated authority.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, credit analysts, and lending assistants.
  • Support transaction flow and post-funding servicing under supervision.
  • Participate in internal meetings and training to build commercial banking expertise.
  • Manage non-borrowing relationships and monitor existing exposure.
  • Track risk ratings, covenants, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee renewals, annual reviews, and servicing compliance.
  • Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
