About The Position

Easy Ice is seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Technician (Technician I) to join their team. This role is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of commercial ice machines. The technician will work under the supervision of senior technicians, assisting in troubleshooting, conducting inspections, and executing maintenance tasks. The position is critical for ensuring the optimal functionality and cleanliness of equipment, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and retention through reliable and responsive service. Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-oriented technical role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components related to ice machines or similar equipment.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and standard repair practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
• Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction.
• High-energy individual with a positive attitude and strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and service protocols.
• Strong work ethic and dedication to new technologies and service protocols.
• Ability to stand; walk; sit; use ladders; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6+ hours per day).
• Ability to drive a vehicle for up to 60 percent of the hours worked.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/Technical Training preferred.
• Previous experience with ice machines or HVAC maintenance or similar equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Installation, preventative maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of ice machines.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Conduct routine inspections and execute scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Ensure optimal functionality and cleanliness of equipment.
• Drive service success to enhance customer satisfaction and maximize customer retention.
• Increase effectiveness and efficiency by cleaning, installing, and repairing machines properly.
• Maintain proper truck stock and vehicle cleanliness and organization standards.
• Leave serviced machines in a condition that makes it easier for other technicians to follow.
• Follow all protocols for completion and communication of work orders to prevent inaccuracies or delays in billing.
• Perform installation of equipment, bagging/delivery of ice, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining ice machines.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure work orders are completed on time.
• Accurately document all actions performed during service visits, including photos, forms, reports, and logs.
• Ensure proper truck stock at all times.
• Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls.
• Identify and report any additional actions required to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate the processing of accurate payments from customers.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and organization, removing all ice and trash at the end of each shift.
