About The Position

Trez Capital is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Financial Analyst to join our U.S. Origination team in Texas. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced commercial real estate professionals and contribute throughout the loan lifecycle—from initial underwriting and financial analysis through due diligence, approval, and closing. The successful candidate will turn complex financial, property, and market information into clear, actionable insights that support disciplined lending decisions and successful transaction execution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related discipline.
One to four years of relevant experience in commercial real estate lending, investment, banking, finance, valuation, or accounting.
Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Sound understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, lending structures, valuation concepts, and key credit metrics.
Ability to evaluate complex information, challenge assumptions, identify risk, and develop practical recommendations.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and document management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly and concisely.
Ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
A self-motivated and accountable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

Experience underwriting commercial real estate transactions and interpreting property operating statements, rent rolls, and market data is preferred.
experience with Argus Enterprise or similar real estate analysis software is an asset.

Responsibilities

Underwrite prospective commercial real estate loans by analyzing borrower financial information, property cash flows, rent rolls, operating statements, market data, and transaction documentation.
Build and maintain property- and loan-level financial models, including cash flow projections, debt service coverage, loan-to-value, debt yield, sensitivity, and scenario analyses.
Prepare term sheets, proposals, investment memoranda, and other approval materials in collaboration with the Origination team and internal stakeholders.
Conduct market and property research, including comparable rents and sales, vacancy, absorption, supply pipelines, and growth trends.
Identify key credit, market, sponsor, property, and structural risks and recommend appropriate mitigants.
Review borrower-provided models and assumptions for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness.
Coordinate due diligence with appraisers, legal counsel, environmental consultants, engineers, and other third-party professionals.
Track due diligence requirements, organize transaction information, and support an efficient underwriting and closing process.
Monitor assigned loans and update financial analyses, valuations, and pro forma assumptions as required.
Prepare concise analyses and presentations for senior decision-makers.
Support portfolio, pipeline, and ad hoc analytical reporting for the Origination team.
