About The Position

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing developers, institutional investors, lenders, borrowers, REITs, private equity sponsors, and commercial real estate owners in sophisticated real estate transactions.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing developers, institutional investors, lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, REITs, private equity sponsors, and real estate investment funds
  • Experience handling commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, leasing, joint ventures, and financing transactions
  • Experience drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, development agreements, operating agreements, easements, reciprocal easement agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Experience reviewing title, survey, zoning, environmental reports, and other real estate due diligence materials
  • Experience managing sophisticated transactions from letter of intent through closing
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with office, mixed-use, multifamily, hospitality, industrial, life sciences, healthcare, or data center developments is a plus

  • Handling commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, leasing, joint ventures, and financing transactions.
  • Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, development agreements, operating agreements, easements, reciprocal easement agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Reviewing title, survey, zoning, environmental reports, and other real estate due diligence materials.
  • Managing sophisticated transactions from letter of intent through closing.
  • Significant client interaction and deal responsibility.
