About The Position

Teague Electric is seeking a Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead projects from award through completion. This role involves understanding project scope, building plans, managing manpower and material needs, overseeing financials, communicating with customers, and ensuring field teams have the necessary resources. The ideal candidate will be involved in the project, understand it thoroughly, support field teams, and build customer relationships. This position is for someone who takes ownership and finds satisfaction in the success of their team and projects.

Requirements

  • Experienced commercial Project Manager.
  • Understands commercial electrical construction.
  • Can read plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
  • Understands how work actually gets built in the field.
  • Knows how to manage labor, budgets, schedules, and profitability.
  • Comfortable working directly with general contractors and customers.
  • Communicates well with both field and office teams.
  • Proactive in addressing potential problems.
  • Can manage multiple tasks without losing sight of details.
  • Takes responsibility for results.
  • Enjoys being part of a team.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Kansas City commercial construction market.
  • Master Electrician license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from award through completion.
  • Understand project scope and build the project plan.
  • Stay ahead of manpower and material needs.
  • Manage project financials.
  • Communicate with the customer.
  • Ensure the team has what they need to succeed.
  • Work through schedules and project financials.
  • Solve field issues.
  • Meet with GCs.
  • Review change orders.
  • Coordinate materials.
  • Plan manpower and scheduling with field teams.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors with field teams.
  • Ensure field teams have current information and drawings.
  • Remove roadblocks that slow down production.
  • Track labor and productivity.
  • Work through changes and field conditions with field teams.
  • Celebrate wins and address problems with field teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and project partners.
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor labor productivity.
  • Oversee purchasing and material costs.
  • Manage change orders.
  • Handle billing and project documentation.
  • Develop cost-to-complete projections.
  • Ensure project profitability.
  • Manage closeout and final billing.
