Plans, organizes, and directs the work of a professional appraisal staff assigned to the annual mass appraisal of commercial real property for ad valorem tax purposes. Oversee annual calibration of valuation models. Manage the appeals process for all commercial properties. This is accomplished through properly applied mass appraisal techniques in accordance with the State of Kansas Statutes and the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Property Valuation (PVD), directives and guidelines, office policies and procedures, and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP). This position requires the employee to remain accessible while working in the field and as needed, outside normal business hours. The employee must be able to receive work-related communications and access the County’s network remotely through a reliable internet connection.
