Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of experience as a project manager (or requisite experience) in the mechanical contracting field.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial plumbing.
  • Full PC Knowledge required (software: Excel, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Appropriate professional dress and appearance.
  • Capacity to set priorities, organize and handle detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to be flexible and resilient in responding quickly to changing demands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with all demographic groups in the Plumbing field, including customers, suppliers and employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of how to run light commercial plumbing jobs.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop estimates for projects of all sizes, including review of drawings and labor requirements.
  • Prepare estimates, present them, and finalize them with the client.
  • Manage commercial plumbing projects from turnover through completion.
  • Review project scope, specifications, contracts, and drawings.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials for all assigned projects.
  • Conduct job site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Identify and resolve project issues proactively to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and closeout documents.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor labor/material costs.
  • Review job costing reports and maintain profitability targets.
  • Prepare and submit change orders as needed.
  • Approve invoices and assist with project billing.
  • Track project progress against financial goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate daily with field supervisors, foremen, and technicians.
  • Assist in manpower planning and workforce scheduling.
  • Provide leadership and support to field teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the department.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, property managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on project status.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure projects are completed in compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, organization, and professionalism.
