We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumber to join our fast-growing team, responsible for installing and repairing water systems in commercial customer buildings.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial plumbing
- Strong knowledge of common plumbing terminology, fittings, materials, pipes, tools, & equipment
- Able to diagnose and repair electric and gas water heaters
- Valid Driver License w/acceptable driving record
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems
- Familiarity with manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the plumbing trade
- Familiar with Health and Safety regulations
- Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies
- Understanding of the current regulations within the field
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of plumbing systems in commercial buildings
- Respond to plumbing calls from our general contracting team
- Install plumbing systems in new construction and rehab properties
- Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
- Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions and taking appropriate action
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, vacuum pump, recovery unit, test equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle
- Maintain equipment and vehicle in effective and safe working condition
- Install and maintain water supply systems
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
- Participate in meetings and training as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
- Prepare written materials for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information
- Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety or health concerns
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment
- Independently install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems
- Continue developing technical skills and industry knowledge
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing issues
- Mentor and support junior plumbers and apprentices
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and plumbing codes
