About The Position

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP), a commercial service and construction company serving Southern California, is seeking experienced Commercial Painters. The ideal candidate has at least two years of recent, relevant painting experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role involves painting interior and exterior surfaces, preparing and protecting surfaces, estimating materials, supporting apprentices, and completing finish work. Painters may erect temporary structures and use hoists as needed. They also review project drawings, dispose of paint properly, maintain clean jobsites, and communicate progress to management.

Requirements

At least two years of commercial painting experience.
Must provide and use your own hand tools.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow safety guidelines, Cal/OSHA requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities

Paint interior and exterior surfaces using rollers, brushes, or spray equipment.
Use proper taping techniques to protect surfaces and achieve clean lines.
Estimate and record the supplies and materials needed to complete the daily workload.
Coach apprentices on production standards.
Erect temporary structures, such as scaffolds, and set up hoists as needed to support painting work.
Perform finish work as required.
Ensure used paint is properly disposed.
Review drawings or schematics to determine the materials, supplies, and equipment needed for each project.
Keep jobsites clean and free of debris and waste.
Communicate jobsite progress to management.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
