About The Position

The Commercial Move Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing commercial moving and furniture installation projects. This position serves as the primary on-site leader, ensuring crews, trucks, equipment, materials, and project requirements are properly coordinated. The Move Manager works closely with customers, project managers, operations leadership, vendors, drivers, movers, and installers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to the approved scope of work. This position supports commercial projects only and does not include residential moving responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, project scopes, floor plans, and site instructions.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and mobile application skills for email, timekeeping, photos, and project documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial moving, logistics, furniture installation, warehouse, or related project experience preferred.
  • Previous crew leadership, supervisory, or project coordination experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review project scopes, work orders, schedules, floor plans, staffing needs, equipment requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Participate in site walks, pre-move meetings, and project planning as needed.
  • Lead assigned commercial moving and installation projects from jobsite setup through completion.
  • Conduct pre-shift crew meetings and clearly communicate assignments, safety requirements, and project expectations.
  • Direct drivers, movers, installers, temporary labor, and other project personnel.
  • Monitor crew productivity, project timelines, labor hours, and material usage.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, project managers, and operations leadership regarding progress, delays, damages, or changes in scope.
  • Ensure customer property and building surfaces are properly protected throughout the project.
  • Enforce company safety policies, jobsite requirements, and proper equipment-use procedures.
  • Complete and submit required project documentation, including time records, photos, damage reports, customer approvals, and closeout information.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to crew members and report attendance, conduct, or performance concerns to management.
  • Ensure jobsites, trucks, equipment, and staging areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
  • Confirm that all work is completed according to the project scope before releasing the crew or leaving the jobsite.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
