The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and assisting the Project Manager with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of Mechanical Installation
  • 1+ years of experience reading blueprints, structural drawings, building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents

Nice To Haves

  • Building automation in construction field
  • Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
  • Minor building automation field work, programming and submittals
  • PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification
  • Experience in reviewing specifications and drawings
  • Associates Degree in engineering or project management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers

Responsibilities

  • Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
  • Oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
  • Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Conducts Work in Progress meetings.
  • Develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus.
  • Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
  • Conveys a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management.
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Accurately forecast revenue each month by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly.
  • Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out.
  • Manage the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur.
  • Assure that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin.
  • Assure that job safety is priority on every project.
