About The Position

Best-One Tire & Service is seeking a full-time Commercial Mechanic at its Jeffersonville location. The mechanic diagnoses, maintains, and repairs commercial vehicles and equipment and performs preventive maintenance. The role includes mechanical work on commercial and light truck applications, along with providing guidance and training to team members and helping coordinate shop work. This facility does not perform engine or transmission work.

Requirements

• Six years of general mechanical work experience, including at least three years of experience with commercial vehicles.
• Experience performing commercial vehicle alignments.
• Must have own tools and tool storage.
• Must be reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, and take pride in quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with computer point-of-sale software.
• Commercial driver's license (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work on commercial and light truck applications, including alignments, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, hydraulics, kingpins, fluid changes, and DOT inspections.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members.
• Help assign jobs and duties to team members.
• Assist with scheduling customer jobs.
• Help motivate team members and keep them on task.
• Maintain and control parts and supplies inventory.
• Track and record work performed and create work orders for customer jobs.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial vehicles and equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.
