The Commercial Manager (CM) leads the commercial development of gas turbine and power plant projects, working with a range of contract structures such as Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Equipment Supply Agreements, and Build-Transfer Agreements (BTA). These are high-value capital projects that require an understanding of engineering principles alongside business and financial drivers. A key part of the CM role is engaging directly with customers to shape competitive solutions, while ensuring internal alignment with execution capabilities, risk tolerance, and profitability targets. The CM works closely with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Supply Chain, and Finance to evaluate risks, structure commercial terms, analyze cost and cash flow models, and negotiate contracts. This includes commercial terms such as payment schedules, liquidated damages, warranties, and change order mechanisms. This is a cross-functional, customer-facing role, reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations. The CM supports both the proposal and contracting phases of transactions — from strategy development and scope definition through final contract negotiation and handover to execution. This role is ideal for technically inclined professionals — such as project engineers, systems or process engineers, or sales engineers — with commercial skills. It is intentionally structured as a 50/50 blend of engineering and business responsibilities. Successful candidates will bring technical foundation and rigor to the role while honing strong commercial instincts, customer fluency, and strategic judgment.
