Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and at least one years of relevant credit experience; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performing underwriting across all commercial lending verticals (C&I, CRE, Construction), in accordance with Bank pipeline demands.
  • Ensuring compliance with State Regulatory guidelines and Salem Five’s policies and procedures.
  • Working in concert with Account Officers on Annual Reviews and File Comments for designated relationships (C&I and CRE).
  • Assuming ownership of department reporting assignments allocated by the Chief Credit Officer, to include; Loan Policy Exception Reporting, NAICS Reporting, Financial Tracking Reporting, Concentration of Credit Reporting, Annual Review Reporting, and other reports requested.
  • Managing completion of due-diligence reporting (Lexis Nexis / Experian Credit Reporting), for new and existing loan requests. Said due-diligence reporting will accompany each underwriting proposal as part of the approval process.
  • Completing financial statement spreading in Baker Hill, in concert with Junior Underwriters.
  • Assisting Appraisal Review Officer in completion of appraisal review process, as needed based on pipeline activity.
  • Participating in the mentorship of Junior Underwriters and internship program.
  • Attending RMA/Mass Bankers “Advanced Course” for financial studies, to further analysis capabilities as it relates to review of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows.
  • Regular attendance is essential to this position.
  • Assisting with the development of more junior personnel (i.e. new interns) and planning of work flow for the Team.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as requested.
