About The Position

This position is responsible for the preparation and review of moderately complex commercial and business loan documentation, ensuring alignment with approved credit structures and documentation requirements across a range of transaction types, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Works directly with Processing and Closing, Commercial Quality Control (pre-documentation), and Servicing to support accurate and timely transaction execution and closing readiness. Applies sound judgment within established parameters to resolve routine documentation issues and escalates complex or nonstandard items as appropriate, while consistently meeting established production, quality control (QC), and service level agreement (SLA) expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience supporting commercial loan documentation or related commercial lending operational functions, including preparation and review of moderately complex commercial loan transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret credit approvals and translate approved terms into accurate and enforceable loan documentation, including borrower and guarantor structures, collateral requirements, and standard documentation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting a range of commercial transaction types and documentation structures, with the ability to identify documentation issues and resolve matters within established guidelines, is required.
  • Proven experience utilizing LaserPro for commercial loan document preparation and review is required.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation, including entity and formation documents, credit approvals, loan agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, and related instruments.
  • Solid understanding of various collateral types, lien perfection requirements, and documentation needed to support compliant commercial transactions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply credit approvals, due diligence requirements, and procedures to ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance, while resolving routine and moderately complex issues within established parameters and escalating nonstandard matters as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across internal stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation platforms, workflow tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Completion of all required annual company training, including computer-based training (CBT) related to compliance, regulatory requirements, information security, and operational procedures.
  • Ongoing participation in commercial lending, documentation, systems, and compliance-related training, as required.

  • SBA lending and documentation exposure preferred.
  • Sageworks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, structures, and reviews moderately complex commercial and business loan documentation using LaserPro and/or Conductor (LawyerPro), ensuring alignment with approved credit structures, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Interprets credit approvals to determine borrower/entity, guarantor, collateral, due diligence, and document set requirements; translates approved terms into accurate and enforceable documentation structures for assigned transactions.
  • Analyzes borrower and collateral structures to ensure documentation components are appropriate, complete, and consistent with the approved deal structure.
  • Reviews and validates documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, including entity documentation, signature authority, loan terms, collateral references, and required instruments.
  • Identifies and resolves routine-to-moderately complex documentation issues within established parameters; escalates highly complex, nonstandard, legal-language, or collateral-perfection concerns as appropriate.
  • Supports transactions involving attorney-prepared documentation within assigned scope by reviewing for alignment with approved credit terms and internal standards and coordinating revisions through established channels.
  • Performs peer-to-peer QC reviews and provides second-level review support for Documentation Specialist I to validate accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to final review, as applicable.
  • Applies approved nonstandard language when appropriate within established guidance and supports consistent documentation practices by identifying recurring issues and providing input for job aids and procedural updates.
  • Partners with Processing and Closing, Commercial Quality Control (pre-documentation), and Servicing to ensure documentation supports closing readiness and downstream requirements within defined processes.
  • Manages assigned documentation pipeline volume to ensure work is completed accurately and within established SLA timeframes while maintaining documentation quality standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of commercial loan documentation requirements, regulatory expectations, and system functionality applicable to assigned work.
  • Meets established documentation quality standards and scorecard performance expectations associated with the role.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
