About The Position

A thriving and growing Texas law firm with a highly specialized commercial litigation and post-judgment practice, is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Associate to join its team in San Antonio, TX. This is an opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle sophisticated matters with significant autonomy, strong compensation, no traditional billable-hour requirement, and a realistic path into department leadership. 20,000 - 40,000 in yearly bonuses

Requirements

• Active Texas Bar license.
• Approximately 4+ years of meaningful civil or commercial litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing, research, and motion practice.
• Substantive experience independently managing litigation matters.
• Confidence appearing before judges and handling court proceedings.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop legal strategy with limited supervision.
• Sound professional judgment and the ability to manage multiple active matters.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach without unnecessary hierarchy or ego.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-moving, high-volume legal environment.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial or business litigation experience.
• Creditors' rights or financial services litigation.
• Judgment enforcement or post-judgment proceedings.
• Garnishment or collections litigation.
• Bankruptcy experience, particularly on the creditor side.
• Asset recovery experience.
• Experience handling sophisticated disputes involving commercial assets.
• Interest in developing expertise within a specialized and growing area of Texas law.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex commercial and civil litigation matters with a focus on post-judgment proceedings and asset recovery.
• Draft and respond to motions, pleadings, briefs, and other substantive court filings.
• Research complex and novel legal issues and develop persuasive litigation strategies.
• Appear before judges in bench hearings and other court proceedings throughout Texas.
• Negotiate resolutions involving commercial judgments, business interests, and significant assets.
• Analyze financial and asset-related issues to determine appropriate legal strategies.
• Manage a high volume of matters while maintaining strong judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
• Collaborate closely with paralegals, finance, operations, project management, and other internal teams.
• Help refine processes and procedures as the practice continues to scale.
• Mentor support staff and grow into broader leadership responsibility over time.
