The Senior Account Manager is responsible for assisting in the production of new and renewal accounts, in keeping with agency and individual producer goals, and when necessary, provides field service in support of producer activities and maintains high service standards. This role involves marketing, servicing, developing, and retaining assigned accounts, meeting established account development and retention objectives, as well as a targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume commitments. The position requires obtaining renewal information, completing applications, obtaining markets, delivering policies, coordinating efforts of loss control or other services, and resolving service issues. The Senior Account Manager will retain and develop accounts by making recommendations regarding risk handling to the Producer and/or Customer, seeking the most cost-effective requested insurance coverages, preparing proposals, evaluating and recommending other lines of coverage, and providing additional resources for the client, as needed. The role also includes negotiating with insurance companies for the most proper coverage options, assisting the Producer in preparing and making presentations of insurance programs to key accounts and prospects, and performing all transactions and maintaining client files on the agency management system. Additional responsibilities include requesting renewals, endorsements, and other needed data from the companies and insureds; soliciting Producer and Account Executive assistance when needed to issue coverage in a timely, efficient manner; binding coverage within Agency Underwriting Authority; checking new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, and cancellations and promptly handling them for accuracy in rating, typing, coverage, signatures, and inputting these transactions to generate billing invoices and quality products for customers; maintaining files in an orderly, up-to-date manner; preparing Stewardship reports as needed; independently creating renewal proposals; conducting renewal meetings with customers on behalf of the Producer; reviewing all activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions; referring current and prospective clients to the Employee Benefits Department and to the Personal Insurance Department for solicitation of those lines of business; and participating in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development.
