About The Position

The Commercial Lines Claims Processor plays a key role in delivering exceptional client service by supporting the commercial claims process from initial claim reporting through ongoing communication and coordination with insurance carriers. This position serves as a liaison between clients, carriers, adjusters, and internal team members to ensure claims are reported accurately, processed efficiently, and managed in accordance with agency procedures and service standards. The Claims Processor also provides administrative and operational support to the Claims Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of insurance industry experience, preferably in commercial lines, claims or customer service
  • Active Pennsylvania Property & Casualty license, or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months of hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with an agency management system, preferably Applied Epic
  • Ability to learn carrier websites, claim reporting systems, and other insurance-related software
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for commercial lines claims by answering incoming calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Receive and document new claims reported by clients and internal team members.
  • Submit claims to carriers on behalf of the insured in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Monitor claim submissions to ensure timely carrier acknowledgment, claim number assignment, and adjuster designation.
  • Follow up with insurance carriers to obtain claim status updates and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and complete claims documentation.
  • Assist clients by providing claim-related information, responding to questions, and directing complex issues to the Claims Manager when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
