About The Position

In this position you will support the Account Team in the management on the existing Book of Business with emphasis in full retention responsibility. The primary function is to provide quality service to clients and cross-sell/account-round within the existing book of business. The Title Titlte will be commensurate experience. The Associate Account Manager (AM) or Account Manager will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company and designated middle-market accounts. You will lead and control relationships with clients in collaboration with Producers and/or Account Executives. The daily servicing of clients will include contract analysis, coverage and exposure analysis, endorsement activity, routine coverage and billing questions, problem-solving, renewal control, preparation of quotes/proposals, binding coverage, and claim reporting and follow-up. You will assist Producer(s) with the above functions as needed. You should have P&C experience and an active P&C license. Have knowledge and experience in select commercial insurance including, but not limited to, commercial auto, property, general liability, umbrella, inland marine, workers compensation, and flood. This is a full-time position, ideally working hybrid from our Bethesda, MD office. We will consider a remote option for well-experienced Commercial Lines candidates able to work on an EST schedule. Requirements

  • Property and casualty insurance license upon hire is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial lines insurance, with an understanding of underwriting, coverage and rate analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and an ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to clients and underwriters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and intermediate or above with Excel.
  • EPIC experience is preferred, but will consider other agency management system experience.
  • When working from home, you must maintain a private workspace to secure company equipment and correspondence; maintain high-speed internet, be present and responsive online and minimize personal interruptions during your work shift.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through; maintains a sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

  • EPIC experience is preferred, but will consider other agency management system experience.
  • If not experienced with EPIC and seeking a remote role, on-site training may be required in one of our select East Coast offices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Account Executive to complete marketing submissions including client coverage needs, gathering exposure data, researching property, vehicle and equipment values through serial numbers, replacement cost assessments, client invoices and/or tax and financial data.
  • Review prior policies and analyze coverage for gaps and coverage enhancements for new business opportunities.
  • Create Broker of Record (BOR) letters and submit to carriers for acceptance.
  • For renewal and new business, complete Acord applications, specialty applications & supplemental applications by accessing the missing data and assisting the Account Executive/Producer with obtaining completion of all necessary applications.
  • Be familiar with carrier appetites and the market climate for proper selection and advice to Account Executives/Producers on eligible markets available for marketing. Develop market rapport with carriers.
  • Perform all technical and clerical functions for the assigned book of business to assure the insurance service needs of individual clients are met. These functions include but are not limited to client file set-up, issuing evidence of insurance documents, application completion, and endorsement and renewal processing. Initiating or assisting with new business as directed by the Account Executive/Producer.
  • Prepare summaries of insurance and create schedules and proposals as needed for account review. Remarket and handle other renewal activities with the Account Executive/Producer.
  • Review with the Producer the service plan designed for the client and maintain diary alerts and follow ups to assure the deliverables are met as agreed upon to our clients. Create, review and update diaries, with clients and carriers, as necessary, or upon the receipt or delivery of insurer documentation (relates to billing, endorsements, waivers, policy audits, signed policies, certificates, accounts receivables, quotes).
  • Proofread all documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of information in documents produced for service team members, clients or carriers.
  • Address client needs by communicating with the client, via computer, phone, or face-to-face interaction, and ensure that all appropriate resources are being applied.
  • Use agency credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments.
  • Analyze loss run/claim history reports including ModMaster.
  • Responsible for assuring all client billings are entered accurately into system 30 days prior to company due date.
  • Develop and maintain complete, accurate, and timely data in EPIC according to NFP Standards, Policies & Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager, Account Executive & Producer.
