About The Position

Our Professional Services practice is looking for a dynamic and results oriented Account Manager to join their growing practice in the Toronto office. The ideal candidate possesses experience in professional liability/errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’ liability, cyber and property & casualty insurance with an emphasis on professional services firms. This is an ideal role for someone who is hands on and client centric, focused on retention and growth. This is a great opportunity to work in a specialty practice and to grow the book of business. This role reports to the Vice President, Professional Liability.

Requirements

  • RIBO Licensed
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional liability (E&O)
  • Experience on Epic broker management system or other BMS
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to manage and mentor support staff
  • Strong organizational, time and client management skills
  • Effective communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proactive and customer focused approach; resourceful researching skills
  • Analytical and strong decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance industry trends
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel up to 25% across Ontario for client meetings

  • CIP, FCIP or CRM Designation desired

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business
  • Effective communication with commercial clients.
  • Creating effective strategies to address client transactions, negotiations and ability to lead discussions.
  • Coverage design/analysis: coverage triggers, definitions, exclusions, claims made treatment, and continuity
  • Assume various roles dependent on account: marketing, account back up, lead broker, processing/associate tasks when required etc.
  • Marketing: Identifies the client or prospects’ circumstances and placing their deal in the marketplace.
  • Participating in Underwriter conference calls and client meetings
  • Helping clients select amongst competing quotes
  • Participate in formal presentations, including at the C-Level
  • Provides feedback for the annual budget planning process
  • Consistently Monitor and Follow Up with Clients on Aged Receivables
  • Collaboration with account team including coaching and mentoring
  • Utilize CORE for any new business opportunities and utilize Claude to assist in daily functions
