About The Position

HUB International is seeking a motivated, client-focused Account Executive to join our Real Estate practice in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of real estate clients, property owners, developers, property management firms, and condominium corporations by delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in business development and a solid understanding of real estate risk exposures. This role works closely with account managers, technical specialists, and carrier partners to support new business growth and client retention across the real estate sector.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong focus on real estate accounts and new business development.
  • RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly
  • Proven success building a profitable book of business within Toronto's real estate sector.
  • Strong understanding of property, liability, environmental, builders risk, and D&O coverage as applied to real estate portfolios and condominium boards.
  • Established market presence and referral network among developers, property managers, and condominium stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.
  • CIP, CAIB, or CRM designation.
  • Existing familiarity with the Condominium Act (Ontario) and its practical impact on insurance program design.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close new real estate accounts, including property owners, developers, REITs, property management companies, and condominium corporations.
  • Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets within the real estate vertical.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver multi-line insurance solutions, including property, general liability, environmental, umbrella/excess, builders risk, and director & officer coverage for condominium boards.
  • Develop referral sources and maintain a strong professional network across Toronto's real estate community — developers, property managers, real estate legal counsel, and industry associations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities across the real estate portfolio.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to real estate clients, providing strategic guidance on property risk management, liability exposure, and insurance program design.
  • Lead renewal planning, coverage reviews, and portfolio strategy discussions alongside service teams, accounting for property schedules, valuations, and occupancy changes.
  • Stay informed on real estate market conditions, construction costs, environmental exposures, condominium governance requirements, and regulatory developments affecting Ontario property owners.
  • Support long-term client retention through proactive engagement and responsive service.
  • Maintain productive relationships with carriers and underwriters specializing in real estate and property risk.
  • Negotiate terms and structure competitive solutions for complex property schedules and portfolios.
  • Represent HUB in the marketplace through networking and involvement in real estate industry associations (e.g., BOMA, CCI).
