About The Position

Join Axos Bank’s immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and develop professional skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment. In addition to day-to-day duties, interns participate in a capstone project, sessions with business leaders, financial literacy training, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, and a volunteer day. Interns choose one of two sessions: May 25–August 13 or June 14–September 3. The Commercial Banking Lending Intern supports the lending operations of Axos Bank’s commercial banking division, with exposure to the lifecycle of commercial loans, including underwriting, portfolio management, and originations. The role supports the bank’s corporate finance platform, with an emphasis on portfolio management and possible overlap in originations, underwriting, and analytics. By rotating through or supporting multiple groups, the intern will see the full lifecycle of a commercial credit, from prospecting and deal structuring through closing, ongoing monitoring, and renewal.

Responsibilities

Assist in collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, preparing credit memos, and performing preliminary financial analysis.
Help monitor existing loan accounts, update client records, and track performance metrics.
Support onboarding new clients, input application data, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on lending strategy and client relationship management.
Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations to support lending decisions and internal reviews.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
