About The Position

The Commercial Lending Intern is responsible for working with the Commercial Lending team to conduct financial analysis, preparing credit memorandums, and completing other tasks and projects as assigned. This position will also have the opportunity to shadow various positions within Commercial Lending in an effort to obtain meaningful work experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Some college and/or equivalent related experience.
  • Regular use of desktop/laptop computer and basic operating systems.
  • Basic experience with alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the preparation of memorandums and loan approval summaries for prospective and renewing loans in an accurate, logical, and a timely manner.
  • Assists with conducting loan portfolio analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, researching and analyzing financial statement data, evaluating industry trends, and creating projections. Consults with loan officers, accounting firms, and customers to ensure a comprehensive technical review of prospective and existing credit facilities.
  • Accompanies relationship managers on prospective and existing customer calls to discuss borrowing needs. Must effectively communicate with prospects and customers to procure financial data, assist with loan payment collections and serve as a liaison with clients.
  • Responsible for shadowing, asking questions, and gaining insight into the duties and responsibilities of all Commercial Lending functions.
  • Responsible for completing a variety of tasks and special projects which may include data input, validation and analysis, report preparation, and maintaining data files and other records.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
