Commercial Lending Intern
About The Position
The Commercial Lending Intern will support the lending operations of Axos Bank’s commercial banking division, gaining exposure to the lifecycle of commercial loans, including underwriting, portfolio management, and originations. The role is suited to individuals interested in commercial finance, client engagement, and strategic lending practices. The position is part of Axos Bank’s immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program. In addition to day-to-day duties, interns participate in a capstone project, sessions with business leaders, financial literacy training, Corporate Finance Institute training, and a volunteer day. Interns choose between Session 1 (May 25–August 13) and Session 2 (June 14–September 3).
Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, preparing credit memos, and performing preliminary financial analysis.
- Help monitor existing loan accounts, update client records, and track performance metrics.
- Support onboarding new clients, input application data, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on lending strategy and client relationship management.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations to support lending decisions and internal reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
