Commercial Lending Intern
About The Position
Join Axos Bank’s immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and develop professional skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment. In addition to day-to-day duties, interns participate in a capstone project, sessions with business leaders, financial literacy training courses, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, and a volunteer day. Interns choose between two sessions: May 25–August 13 or June 14–September 3. The Commercial Lending Intern supports lending operations in Axos Bank’s commercial banking division and gains exposure to the commercial loan lifecycle, including underwriting, portfolio management, and originations. The role is intended for individuals interested in commercial finance, client engagement, and strategic lending practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, preparing credit memos, and performing preliminary financial analysis.
- Help monitor existing loan accounts, update client records, and track performance metrics.
- Support onboarding new clients, input application data, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on lending strategy and client relationship management.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations to support lending decisions and internal reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
