About The Position

The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and servicing a portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships. This role focuses on building strong client partnerships, analyzing creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Loan Officer collaborates across departments and branch networks to drive business growth and deliver high-quality financial solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Experience in commercial lending and financial analysis preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial loan products and banking regulations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and credit data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow commercial loan and deposit relationships through proactive business development efforts
  • Interview clients and prospective borrowers to assess financing needs
  • Analyze financial statements and related data to evaluate creditworthiness
  • Structure loan terms and conditions aligned with client needs and bank lending guidelines
  • Prepare and present loan recommendations for approval or denial in accordance with bank policies
  • Manage an assigned commercial loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with loan terms, covenants, and annual review requirements
  • Monitor loan performance and take appropriate action on past-due accounts
  • Coordinate with internal teams and legal counsel to ensure accurate and compliant loan documentation
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the bank’s commercial products and services and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Collaborate with business partners on joint calls to expand client relationships and recommend additional solutions
  • Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training to stay current on industry trends and best practices
  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including CRA and Equal Credit Opportunity Act
