Extra Space Storage is hiring a Commercial Lease Administrator to join our commercial leasing team in our Salt Lake City, UT corporate office. Extra Space Storage has a robust portfolio of retail, office, warehouse, cell tower and billboard leases that supplement traditional rental income. Combined, this revenue stream equates to over $52M in annual revenue. The Commercial Leasing Administrator plays an integral role in managing and growing this important revenue stream. This position will work with the Director of Commercial Leasing to oversee this function. Please note that this position is NOT hybrid or remote, but requires this person to work out of our corporate office in Cottonwood Heights, SLC, Monday-Friday, during standard business hours.

Requirements

  • Degree from university or college preferred
  • Training in real estate or related fields
  • Previous experience as a residential/commercial leasing officer, escrow/title administrator, or real estate sales/leasing
  • Possess knowledge and skillset for a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Process and detail oriented; problem solving attitude
  • Strong customer service skills and awareness

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in self-storage, retail, QSR helpful

Responsibilities

  • Increase commercial space leasing performance and drive revenue growth
  • Negotiate and lease office, retail, warehouse and other non-storage space
  • Manage leases including rent increases, renewals, extensions, etc.
  • Hire and manage broker relationships
  • Perform market research and establish market rates on commercial spaces
  • Manage tenant delinquencies, credit reports, evictions and work consents
  • Collaborate closely with operations, facilities, and accounting teams on a consistent basis
