About The Position

As a Commercial & Land Deals Advisor working at ExxonMobil, you will be a part of world-class teams and gain hands-on experience and skills working on projects that create an impact. This role involves handling land transactions across ExxonMobil’s Unconventional portfolio and supporting corporate functions. You will manage brokers for title research and due diligence, obtain Title Opinions and assert defects, and review and draft leases, term assignments, and contracts to ensure they meet development objectives and contracting standards. The role also requires requesting and analyzing economics for accuracy and value delivery, negotiating with other companies and individuals for leases, assignments, trades, farmout agreements, and mineral deeds, and leveraging networks to negotiate acreage trades, acquisitions, and divestitures. Collaboration with other technical functions on development planning and execution is also a key part of this position. The job may include travel.

Requirements

  • Upstream oil and gas knowledge
  • 3+ years of in-house land/commercial experience
  • Bachelors in Energy Management/Energy Commerce, Law Degree, or Master of Business Administration
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver results in a performance-driven and team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Handle land transactions across ExxonMobil’s Unconventional portfolio and support corporate
  • Manage brokers for title research and due diligence related to transactions
  • Obtain Title Opinions and assert defects related to target interest
  • Review and draft leases, term assignments, and contracts and ensure terms meet development objectives and contracting standards
  • Request and analyze economics to ensure accuracy and value delivery
  • Negotiate with other companies and/or individuals in pursuit of leases, assignments, trades, farmout agreements, mineral deeds, etc.
  • Leverage network and relationships to negotiate acreage trades, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Collaborate with other technical functions on development planning and execution
  • Execute complex agreements for inception to conclusion
  • Analyze regulatory changes and market trends to identify opportunities, advise on impacts on strategy and develop mitigation strategies
  • Evaluate opportunities for value, viability and risk
  • Design key elements of agreements to manage commercial risk while maximizing value
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties and Governments as appropriate
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to define corporate external positions
  • Create external influence plans and internal persuasive narratives to achieve mandates in support strategy implementation within specific tasks
  • Identify key external networks and build appropriate relationships
