About The Position

We are looking for a passionate, career-minded, and resourceful person to join our team and offer best-in-class service to our portfolio of Broker partners. This role involves providing technical underwriting expertise for mid-market property/casualty and automobile lines, analyzing and evaluating results for your portfolio, and using individual or collaborative judgment to ensure profit and growth goals are met. You will provide exceptional service to assigned brokers, mentor junior underwriting staff, assist with training and coaching, perform quality control audits, build inter-department relationships, communicate results and trends to management, and record underwriting information for evaluation and profitability.

Requirements

University / College degree
CIP designation
Minimum 5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty and automobile underwriting experience

CRM, FCIP is an asset

Responsibilities

Provide technical underwriting expertise for mid-market property/casualty and automobile lines
Analyze and evaluate results for your portfolio and use individual or collaborative judgment to ensure that profit and growth goals are met
Provide exceptional service to your assigned brokers in accordance to service standards with respect to the renewal portfolio, endorsements, cancellations, certificates etc.
Mentor junior underwriting staff aiding in their career development
Assist with training and coaching of other staff as required
Perform peer quality control audits and validate adherence to corporate guidelines
Build strong inter-department relationships that encourage Unica’s corporate culture
Communicate results, outstanding issues, industry trends and business opportunities to the Commercial Management team
Record underwriting information for the purpose of evaluation, assessment, audit and profitability
