About The Position

Salem Five Insurance is seeking a Commercial Insurance Manager to lead the Commercial Lines support team. This role is responsible for maintaining, expanding, and servicing accounts, working closely with the Sales Management team to ensure a premier client experience. The manager will provide support, guidance, and oversight to Commercial Lines Account Managers, ensuring they meet individual, department, and division goals. This position requires maintaining technical knowledge of coverages and industry changes, monitoring workflows, and implementing procedures to enhance efficiency. The role also involves supporting Producers with client issues and training new Commercial Lines Account Managers on various aspects of the job, including rating, quoting, applications, binders, endorsements, certificates, audits, renewals, remarketing, invoicing, and cancellations. Quality control reviews of account manager duties are essential to ensure adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines. The manager will also assist with invoice discrepancies and stay updated on agency management system changes through ongoing training and industry conferences. Special projects and other duties as assigned, along with demonstrating compliance with insurance laws and regulations, are also part of the role. This position can be based in the Woburn office.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Commercial Lines Account Management experience or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform effectively in an environment where confidentiality, maturity, sound judgment, initiative, and professionalism are required.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
  • Regular attendance is essential to this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Commercial Lines support team in maintaining, expanding, and servicing accounts.
  • Working closely with the Sales Management team to align sales and service for a premier client experience.
  • Offering support, guidance, and oversight to Commercial Lines Account Managers to reach individual, department, and division goals.
  • Providing direction, training, and support to team members on their assigned accounts for renewal reviews.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge of coverages, rating changes, and form changes to inform the team and direct business with lead carrier partners.
  • Monitoring workflows, consistency with processes and procedures, and providing training for team members.
  • Recommending and implementing procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness for the Commercial Lines department.
  • Supporting Producers as needed for client issues.
  • Training newly hired Commercial Lines Account Managers on rating, quoting, new business applications, binders of insurance, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, renewal reviews, remarketing, invoicing/billing, and cancellations.
  • Providing quality control reviews of Commercial Lines Account Manager duties to ensure adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines.
  • Assisting with reviewing and correcting invoice discrepancies on a timely basis.
  • Maintaining operational efficiency by staying up to date on agency management system changes and procedures.
  • Completing special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrating compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as requested.
  • Carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Managing staff, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
