About The Position

The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Lending Officer is responsible for developing and managing loan accounts that meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the Bank at minimum risk. This role involves analyzing the market, finding new business opportunities, establishing long-term relationships, and providing financial solutions to customers' needs. The Lending Officer will also develop new business relationships, lead efforts to develop and implement appropriate lending products and services, and maximize portfolio growth through effective planning and strategy implementation. Additionally, the role requires reviewing existing and new client relationships for credit quality, structure, and pricing, ensuring the overall soundness of the loan portfolio, and identifying long-term strategies for portfolio mix, growth, and market penetration. A strong understanding of the market, competition, and profitability is essential, aligning the department's work with strategic initiatives and goals. Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar is required.
  • Typically between 4-9 years working as a lender in a loan office at a financial institution with specific experience in commercial lending who possesses business development skills and has a proven ability to attract and retain a client portfolio.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial banking, retail or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership and teamwork preferred.
  • Previous consumer and commercial lending experience preferred.
  • This position may require relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews existing and new client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing.
  • Ensures overall soundness of loan portfolio, with the ability to identify and develop long term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives.
  • Knowledge of the market, competition, profitability and aligns department’s work with strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
