About The Position

Blake Thermal Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking experienced Commercial/Industrial (C&I) burner, controls, and combustion technicians. We are the official representative for Cleaver Brooks, Camus, and other C&I equipment manufacturers in the thermal energy industry. We are looking for technicians with a focus on advanced control systems, and we are interested in technicians at all levels, from apprentices to senior personnel. We offer factory training, certifications, and on-the-job training. Our team members are self-managed, customer-focused, and possess strong thermal energy and mechanical/electrical aptitude. Requirements

  • Must hold or be able to maintain a state of New Hampshire Gas Fitters License.
  • Positive attitude with a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.

  • Hands-on ability for combustion tuning and analysis.
  • Troubleshooting skills to determine and adjust a full range of burners from .5 to 30 MMBTU input.
  • Factory start-up and commissioning of various C&I thermal equipment including hydronic boilers, high- and low-pressure steam systems, firetube and industrial water tube boilers, steam turbines, heat exchangers, snow melt systems, etc.
  • Understanding of boiler room analyses for possible opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Understanding of all types of hot water and steam (high pressure & low pressure) boiler support equipment to include deaerators, feed systems, blow down systems, economizers and waste heat recovery equipment.
  • Understanding of wiring diagrams, electrical, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Burner upgrades/conversions.
  • Advanced Burner control upgrades/conversions.
  • Implementation of energy efficiency measures.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Must have attitude and aptitude to develop a high level of customer service skills.
  • Must be motivated and fast-paced with a strong work ethic.
  • Must work effectively with little or no supervision once trained.
  • Able to read, write, and have good oral communication skills in English.
  • Proficient computer ability for producing required reports.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License to drive rental vehicles.
  • Able to pass a DOT physical for driving fleet vehicles as required.
  • Successful candidate must pass a pre-hire background check, drug test and DMV check.
  • Provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled & emergency maintenance/repair of equipment and associated equipment.
  • Perform installation of equipment at customer sites and conduct pre-installation assistance.
  • Be available for "On Call" 24-hour emergency service rotation.
  • Respond quickly to service calls with good time management and planning.
  • Maintain company-provided equipment, tools, and fleet vehicles.
  • Complete company-provided confined space & lockout/tagout training.
  • Prevent or mitigate environmental impact associated with job-related tasks, accidents, and emergency situations.
  • Actively promote safe behaviors and health awareness.
