Blake Thermal Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking experienced Commercial/Industrial Boiler/Burner/Controls Technicians for their East Syracuse, NY location. This role focuses on advanced control systems and is open to technicians at all levels, from apprentices to senior personnel. The company provides factory training, certifications, and on-the-job training. Requirements

Hands-on ability for combustion tuning and analysis.
Troubleshooting skills to determine and adjust a full range of burners from .5 to 30 MMBTU input.
Experience with factory start-up and commissioning of various C&I thermal equipment including hydronic boilers, high- and low-pressure steam systems (firetube and industrial water tube boilers), steam turbines, heat exchangers, snow melt systems.
Understanding of boiler room analyses for possible opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Understanding of all types of hot water and steam (high pressure & low pressure) boiler support equipment to include deaerators, feed systems, blow down systems, economizers and waste heat recovery equipment.
Understanding of wiring diagrams, electrical, controls and instrumentation.
Experience with burner upgrades/conversions and advanced burner control upgrades/conversions.
Ability to implement energy efficiency measures.
Technical report writing skills.
Must be available for "On Call" 24 hour emergency service rotation.
Must have attitude and aptitude to develop a high level of customer service skills.
Must be motivated and possess a fast-paced personality with strong work ethic.
Able to read, write and have good oral communications skills in English.
Computer ability should be proficient for producing required reports.
Must maintain a valid Driver's License to drive rental vehicles & able to pass a DOT physical for driving fleet vehicles as required.
Requires completion of company provided confined space & lockout/tagout training.
Ability to pass a pre-hire drug test, a pre-hire background check and proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled & emergency maintenance/repair of equipment and all associated equipment.
Perform installation of equipment at customer sites and conduct pre-installation assistance.
Be available for "On Call" 24-hour emergency service rotation.
Work overtime/double-time compensation paid for work performed outside of normal business hours.
Perform scheduled night and weekend work as required to meet customer needs.
Develop a high level of customer service skills and respond quickly to service calls with good time management and planning.
Work effectively with little or no supervision once trained.
Maintain company-provided equipment, tools, and fleet vehicle as per company policy.
Complete company-provided confined space & lockout/tagout training.
Prevent and/or mitigate any environmental impact associated with job-related tasks, accidents, and emergency situations or conditions.
Actively promote safe behaviors and health awareness at all times.
