About The Position

We are seeking Commercial HVAC Technicians to perform troubleshooting and service operations on various HVAC systems. This role involves diagnosing problems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Residential technicians are encouraged to apply. The position requires obtaining and maintaining required certifications and the ability to identify basic trade materials and safely use tools.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of Commercial HVAC experience (residential experience will be accepted).
  • Air Cooled Chiller Experience.
  • Acceptable driving record and valid South Carolina Driving License.
  • Proficient in PC based computer systems and tablet/smart phone technology.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and details.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools.
  • Ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly.
  • Independently safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds routinely, 50 pounds frequently, and 80 pounds occasionally.
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffold.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and service operations on various HVAC systems to diagnose problems or possible issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to customers’ HVAC systems.
  • Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
  • Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
  • Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.
  • Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
  • Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications.
  • Identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function.
  • Safely use small power tools and hand tools.
  • Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
