About This Role As an HVAC Service Technician with Kelso Building Services, you'll be part of our service division — a team dedicated to keeping commercial and industrial facilities running at their best. We're looking for several skilled technicians ready to take on a full-time role diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; technical school training or HVAC certification is a plus.
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a comparable field role.
  • Knowledge of Commercial HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
  • Experience servicing or installing VRF, VAV, RTU, AHU, Chillers or other commercial HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 certification (required).
  • Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and equipment schematics.
  • Sharp troubleshooting instincts and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • NATE certification or comparable industry credential.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Comfort with digital service platforms and mobile work order tools.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues across a range of HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and system inspections to maximize performance and extend equipment life.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
  • Repair or replace failed components including motors, compressors, fans, and thermostats.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Clearly communicate service findings and next steps with clients and colleagues.
  • Keep thorough, accurate records of work completed, parts installed, and system status.
  • Perform all work in accordance with applicable safety standards, local codes, and company guidelines.
