About The Position

Perfection Group is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to serve commercial and industrial customers throughout Columbus and Central Ohio. This is a hands-on field opportunity for a skilled technician who can independently manage complex service calls, communicate confidently with customers, and deliver safe, dependable solutions. You’ll work on a wide range of commercial HVAC systems while helping strengthen our growing Columbus team. You’ll also have opportunities to share your knowledge and help other technicians develop—without stepping away from the technical work you enjoy. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of commercial or industrial HVAC service experience
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience independently managing complex commercial service calls
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and control systems
  • Experience servicing a variety of commercial HVAC equipment
  • Universal EPA Section 608 certification
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and control sequences
  • Clear, professional communication with customers, dispatch, leadership, and teammates
  • Dependability, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected and accountable to the team
  • Commitment to safe, accurate, high-quality work
  • Interest in sharing your experience and helping other technicians improve

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chillers, boilers, commercial refrigeration, building automation, or advanced controls is highly valued, but you do not need to be an expert in every system to be considered.
  • Completion of an HVAC trade-school program, apprenticeship, manufacturer training, or equivalent technical education is preferred. Comparable commercial field experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment at customer facilities throughout Columbus and the surrounding service area.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, hydronic, and controls-related problems.
  • Identify root causes and develop safe, practical repair solutions.
  • Manage service calls independently from diagnosis through completion.
  • Perform preventive maintenance that improves reliability, efficiency, and equipment life.
  • Clearly explain equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommended next steps to customers.
  • Identify parts and complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate service notes, repair documentation, and follow-up information.
  • Coordinate with dispatch to manage customer schedules and service priorities.
  • Communicate delays, parts needs, follow-up requirements, and customer concerns promptly.
  • Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule.
  • Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools, inventory, equipment, and work area.
  • Share technical knowledge and provide field support to less-experienced technicians.
  • Participate in company- and manufacturer-provided technical and safety training.
